Atlantic City to New York

It is too far to travel from Cape May, N.J. to New York City in one day. So, we chose to travel to Atlantic City the first day, and then on the New York the next.

Coming in to Atlantic City.  We anchored, rather than going into the town.

We arrived Brigantine Anchorage on a mostly uneventful day, just occasional fog.  It was a good anchorage flat and surrounded by sea grass, homes and the nightlights of Atlantic City.

Beautiful sunset.

King working on the dinghy motor and a new system to lower the dinghy.

Blue Moon at anchor

See the calm water.  Most of the day we could see miles and miles of beaches, beach front property and many people enjoying the seaside.

One of the many boats we saw today.  Lots of people out enjoying fishing on a Saturday. We liked the boat name on this one.

We weighed anchor at 6 a.m. from Brigantine. Winds were forecast 5 to 10 knots and waves 2'.  We had a very easy day, the forecast was correct, and averaged 7 knots and arrived at our anchorage at 5:45, a much longer day than usual, but we were pleased with good weather and flat water.  A couple that we met at Solomon's Marina on C.A.R.I.B.E 2, just pulled in and anchored beside us.
Tomorrow we will venture about 15 miles across New York City harbor.  We understand it is quite a busy place.
