Home to Texas and back to New York

We flew home to Texas and spent a too-short three weeks.
Visit to Lakeway to see our friends, Gary and Patte and Gary and Barbara.

King and I had been to the eye doctor.  I'm squinting because it was too painful to open my dilated eyes for the photo.

We plan to store the boat in Brewerton, New York at the end of August, for the winter.  We bought an RV while we were in Austin.  In September we plan to visit friends and relatives along the way to the Dutch Cousins Convention in Frankfort, Kentucky.  We'll RV around Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri & Arkansas from mid-September through October.  Then, we'll stay in Texas November, December and January.  No plans (yet) after that, except we'll return to the boat in June for more Canada touring.

We flew back to Albany, New York and  Blue Moon in Amsterdam, NY - on the Mohawk (Erie Canal) River.

Sunset at Amersterdam, NY

King is happy back on the boat.

We are in the lock, preparing to exit. The dam is alongside the lock. The height of the dam is how much we "locked up".

A tight squeeze - under the bridge and into the next lock.

Lock in on the left, dam in the center and an Amtrak on the right side.

We met this family at Lock 17.  They were all the men in this family from age 6 to 93.

At Lock 17, a grandmother and her grandson toured the boat, also.

We made it to our destination of Brewerton, New York at Ess-Kay Marina.  There was a big cook out and fireworks on July 3rd.

Lock 23 and Oswego Canal is closed due to high water and debris in the waterway.  Hopefully, it will open tomorrow, July 6th.
