Fun in Richard's Landing

Richard's Landing was a favorite stop; a small community of friendly people, manicured homes and trendy shops.

Colorful tugs at the marina.

Sunset from the boat.

Beautiful home on the Main Street of Richard's Landing. Click on this photo to enlarge, then look out the living room picture window for a view of the St Mary's River.

We had wonderful white fish at the Marina Restaurant, King's.

We met Tom and Sharon at the restaurant.  We visited and learned that they have a cottage across the channel from the marina and also a condo in Ft Meyers, Florida.  They offered to show us their cottage and the next day Tom came and got us on his boat.  We had a great day, really a highlight of the trip.  They graciously entertained us that afternoon, complete with a wave runner jaunt around the island and a loaf of homemade bread to take back to the boat.

On the way across the channel, Tom pointed to Loonie Island.  A Loonie is a Canadian one dollar coin.  On the back side of the Loonie is the image of this island and a loon, a common Canadian bird.

Beautiful landscaping.

Wave Runner fun!

Riding on a wave runner - a really fun treat for us!

See Blue Moon in the back of the photo.  These three couples are from Sault Ste Marie area and were traveling together in a large catamaran.   They invited us to eat dinner with them and they gave us valuable local knowledge of places to see and things to do in the area.

Boys being boys.  Riding their bikes off the dock. The only life preserver is on the bicycle!

After dinner, Richard's Landing Dockmaster Ray and his wife, Sharon dropped in for a visit.

Everywhere we went, we met friendly people who enjoyed asking about our trip and then we enjoyed hearing suggestions of things to see and rocks to avoid.
