All Locked Out

July 31
Tonight we are in Richards Landing (more about it later) and we have wi-fi!  So, I will catch up the events of the last week.

July 18th
We completed our last lock #45 and accompanying swing bridge at Port Severn.  This is the Last Lock.  This is the smallest lock on the waterway and also one of the busiest.  After coming out of the lock, there is a swing bridge, followed up by rapids, a narrow channel and a sharp right turn.  I don't get pictures usually when so much is happening.

Midland Wye Heritage Marina hosted a three day mini-rendezvous.  Good dinner at Henry's South, a notable fish restaurant with friends from Wye Tug, Young at Heart, Fruitcakes and Terrapin.

Followed by a game of Mexican Train on Young at Heart's boat.

Our new friends, Bill and Joyce, who we met in Fenelon Falls, live in Midland.  They gave us a wonderful tour of Midland, took us to the grocery, marine store and computer supply store.  One of the best parts of the trip is making new friends.  Great Canadian hospitality!

On Monday, we drove a rental car to Toronto and picked up visitors, Rob & Kristie from Austin. During their visit we anchored at some good anchorages and some not so good, we were on smooth water and rough water, we ate lots of fish, and played Mexican Train.

Point au Baril, in English Barrel Point.  In years past, the barrels were lit to guide ships in from the sea.

The Bustards, one of our prettiest anchorages.

King and Rob out for a spin in the dinghy.  Notice the oars, the motor only works when it wants to work.

Rough water days, not so fun.

Look close and see the kayakers!

Another pretty lighthouse.

We made it to Killarney, Sportsman Lodge.
